Scholar Project Sites Working Group

About the Working Group

The IT Council’s Scholar Project Sites Working Group is made up of representatives from academic units, administrative units, VT institutes, and the Division of Information Technology.

In the summer of 2015, the group embarked on a long-range process to examine tools and environments that would meet the various needs of the project and group sites. The group’s mission is to identify and describe a variety of environments (Canvas, Google, SharePoint, Scholar, etc.), to be considered by Central IT (and eventually by project site administrators) in their final selection of an environment for these sites.  We appreciate the significant impact that this change will have on the university — we will keep this process open, and solicit as much input from the university community as possible.  Please take a look at the goals of this group.

Group members:

  • Brian Broniak, TLOS
  • Carolyn Furrow, College of Science
  • Chad Graham, VTTI
  • Dale Pokorski, College of Engineering
  • David Sampson, College of Veterinary Medicine (Chair)
  • Nate Smith, Office of the University Provost
  • Mark Sumner, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

Please feel free to contact any of the individuals on the working group to discuss your needs in this area. And if you haven’t done so already, please take a moment to participate in the survey (**survey closed as of 9/15/2015**). Thank you.
